Clayton Thermal Products Limited is the UK Subsidiary company of Clayton Industries who have manufacturing plants in USA, Belgium and Mexico. Clayton Thermal Products Limited are in Runcorn, Cheshire, from where the UK sales and service is organized.

THE PRODUCTS:
Industrial Steam Generators in the range 150kg/h to 20,000kg/h and Heat Recovery Boilers. Systems incorporate burners, pumps, motors, instrumentation, electro/mechanical and plc control as well as a variety of ancillary plant such as water softeners, metering pumps, pressure vessels etc.
OUR CUSTOMERS:
Pharmaceutical plant, chemical plant, food factories, power stations, hospitals and any industry where steam is used. Major customers include GSK, Pfizer, EON, EDF, Coca Cola, Unilever etc.
THE POSITION:
The Service Engineer will join our team of regionally based specialists. You will be required to carry out routine service work, fault finding and commissioning of new installations once you have reached the relevant level of competency. The job requires a broad range of skill sets including mechanical, electrical, controls, instrumentation, burner controls and combustion. You will be working with steam and high-pressure systems so training will be extensive within the first year. The position involves working at sites throughout the UK and Ireland and occasionally overseas. As well as providing customer support 24/7 that operates on a weekly Rota basis, the job is essentially a Monday to Friday role although working away from home will be required as will the occasional weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Time served in an electrical/mechanical discipli ne to N.V.Q. level 3 essential.
- Gas qualification or previous experience on gas desirable.
- Knowledge or interest in PLC’s and controls would be an advantage.
- Training will be given in the UK and Belgium.
THE CANDIDATE:
- You will already be a successful field service or maintenance engineer looking to further your skills and look for career progression in a specialised field.
- All Clayton engineers act as ambassadors for the company and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to achieve superior customer relationships.
- We are looking for someone who has excellent problem-solving and communication skills, can confidently work independently using self-initiative; the ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose electrical faults.
- Must be PC literate, professional, have an accountable attitude and attention to detail when filling out reports.
- A flexible approach to working hours, and travel across the UK and Ireland.
